The Catholic Bible has the Truth….

If you are interested in what God has to say to us through the Catholic Bible and on the following subjects, you will be amazed.  Now remember, each verse that you read is what God says concerning these subjects. God’s Word is truth.  The following scriptures are all quoted from the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine Translation, Douay Version. Frances Cardinal Spellman, Imprimatur, 1961.

      Mass

Hebrews 10:10 “It is in this will that we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” 10:12 “But Jesus, having offered one sacrifice for sins, has taken his seat forever at the right hand of God…” 10:17,18  “And their sins and their iniquities I will remember no more. Now where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer offering for sin.”

    Mediator

Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other. For there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

Ephesians 2:4,5,8 “But God, who is rich in mercy, by reason of his very great love wherewith he has loved us even when we were dead by reason of our sins, brought us to life together with Christ … For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, for it is a gift of God.”

I Timothy 2:5 “For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men, himself man, Christ Jesus.”

      Pope

Matthew 23:9,10 “ And call no one on earth your father; for one is your Father, who is in heaven. Neither be called masters; for one only is your Master, the Christ.”

I Peter 5:1 “Now I exhort the presbyters among you- I your fellow-presbyter and witness of the sufferings of Christ, the partaker also of the glory that is to be revealed in time to come…”

      Rock

Matthew 16:18 “And I say to thee, thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

I Corinthians 3:11 “For other foundation no one can lay, but that which has been laid, which is Christ Jesus.”

I Corinthians 10:4 “And all drank the same spiritual drink (for they drank from the spiritual rock which followed them, and the rock was Christ.”

Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other. For there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

Romans 10:4 “For Christ is the consummation of the Law unto justice for everyone who believes.”

      Traditions

Matthew 5:3-6 “But he answered and said to them, And why do you transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition? For God said, ‘Honor thy father and mother; and, Let him who curses father and mother to be put to death’. But you say, ‘Whoever shall say to his father and mother, Any support thou mightest have had from me is dedicated to God, does not have to honor his father or his mother.’ So you have made void the commandment of God by your tradition.”

Mark 7:8,9 “For letting go of the commandment of God, you hold fast the tradition of men, the washing of pots and of cups; and many other things you do like to these. And he said to them, ‘Well do you nullify the commandment of God, that you may keep your own tradition!”

Colossians 2:8 “See to it that no one deceives you by philosophy and vain deceit, according to the elements of the world and not according to Christ.”

Trust in God and His Word

Matthew 7:24 “Everyone therefore who hears these words and acts upon them shall be likened to a wise man who built his house on a rock.”

Luke 11:28 “But he said, ‘Rather, blessed are they who hear the word of God and keep it.’”

John 8:47a “He who is of God hears the words of God.”

John 8:51 “Amen, amen, I say to you, if anyone keep my word, he will never see death.”

John 14:23,24 “Jesus answered and said to him, ‘If anyone love me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our abode with him. He who does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you have heard is not mine, but the Father’s who sent me.’”

      Justification

Through the blood of Jesus, I am justified, made righteous, just as if I’d never sinned.

Romans 5:1,9 “Having been justified therefore by faith, let us have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.  Christ died for us. Much more now that we are justified by his blood, shall we be saved through him from the wrath.”

Romans 3:24 “They are justified freely by his grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus.”

Titus 3:7 “… in order that, justified by his grace, we may be heirs in the hope of life everlasting.”

Romans 8:30 “And those whom he has predestined, them he has also called; and those whom he has called, them he also justified, and those whom he has justified, them he has also glorified.”

      Sanctification

I Corinthians 1:2 “To the church of God in Corinth, to you who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be saints with all who call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place- their Lord as well as ours.”

I Corinthians 6:11 “And such were some of you, but you have been washed, you have been sanctified, you have been justified in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of God.”

Hebrews 10:10 “It is in this will that we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”

     Purgatory

I Peter 2:24 “Who himself bore our sins in his body upon the tree, that we, having died to sin, might live to justice; and by his stripes you were healed.”

Romans 5:8 “But God commends his charity towards us, because when as yet we were sinners, Christ died for us.”

II Corinthians 5:21”For our sakes he made him to be sin who knew nothing of sin, so that in him we might become the justice of God.”

     Forgiveness of Sins

Acts 10:43 “To him all the prophets bear witness, that through his name all who believe in him may receive forgiveness of sins.”

Acts 13:38 “Be it known therefore to you, brethren, that through him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you.”

Ephesians 1:7 “In him we have redemption through his blood, the remission of sins, according to the riches of his grace.”

Can we know where we will spend eternity?

John 3:15 “…that those who believe in Him may not perish, but may have life everlasting.”

John 3:36 “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; he who is unbelieving towards the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God rests upon him.”

John 5:24 “Amen, amen, I say to you, he who hears my word, and believes Him who sent me, has life everlasting, and does not come to judgment, but has passed from death to life.”

John 6:40 “For this is the will of my Father who sent Me, that whoever beholds the Son, and believes in Him, shall have everlasting life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”

The Savior is doing His part to seek and meet you.   According to His Word, God gives you two choices:  You can meet Jesus and receive Him as your Savior and Lord   …or…   You will eventually meet Him as your judge once you have passed from this life.  Settle this issue today - this moment, repent from your sins and ask Him to come into your heart. He will not disappoint you.
